The Misfits Collection I Album Art

If the Misfits "Collection II" CD was the very first Misfits CD I every bought than "Collection I" was probably the last of the classic era albums I bought.

This thing was so fucking elusive I thought it didn't even exist, yet there I had, in my possession, Collection II, proof that it was a second collection, thusly proving a first must have been made. It was science.

Every time I went to a record store then (the 1900s) I went straight to the "M" section in hopes of getting my grubby little punk rock mitts on this supposed first Misfits Collection.

Then... the legendary coffin box set collection came out and in it contained ALL (well, not technically) of the Misfits songs spread over four CDs, the first CD which consisted of both GASP Collection I and Collection II.

But I had Collection II and according to the track list for the first disc in the box set, these were not ALL the songs from Collection II. Did that mean this grouping of Collection I was incomplete? Why would they do this?

Back in to the world to complete the actual Misfits collection. I would not rest until Collection I was mine.

Eventually, luck would place the entire Collection I CD in a local record store I frequented and at long last it would be mine, with all 20 songs filling out the CD. 20 songs that, admittedly I already had from all of the various other Misfits CDs and collections in my collection.

BUT I didn't have them IN THIS FUCKING ORDER! Nor did any of the other CDs have this super fucking rad yellow, red, and black artwork featuring the same colored Crimson Ghost all over it, the color scheme that is among the most iconic for the band, featured prominently in their ubiquitous "Horror Business" artwork, a master piece of visual art and song writing, which is featured among this collection.

Such was the path of being a Misfits fan in 1900s, endlessly tracking down CD re-re-re-releases of albums and songs you already had, but needed to have every single fucking version possible because there would be no more songs like this every again.

Just fucking wait until I discovered Samhain...
